Dreamed my husband and I were at home ( in tulsa ok.) the phone rang. My husband was in another room, and he answered the phone. He thought it was someone we knew. He was busy listening to a ballgame onthe radio or tv, so he told the caller to talk to me. He brought me the phone. I began talking to the caller, not knowing who it was. It was a child, (a girl.) she was difficult to understand. She was asking about some new shoes she had just gotten, if i had the same kind of shoes. I realized she had intended to call someone else. I explained to her that she had misdialed. I told her to hang up, then try the call again. She didn’t know how to disconnect the call. She kept trying to hang up the phone, but she had me on the line. Finally her dad was on the phone. I told him she had accidentally called me but couldn’t hang up. He was a friendly person and said he would hang up. Then he did the same thing, didn’t disconnect the lline. Then i began hearing loud rock music playing in his home, over the phone. Then he got back on the phone and realized it hadn’t disconnected. The music had stopped. Then I could see him in his home (like a video call.) he had shelves of memorabilia of different kinds. Some music related and misc old items, like a flea market. I could hear orhercmen talking in another room of his house. He told me it was the police. They had come to his house for some reason. He said now i was involved, because I had been on his phone line when the police arrived. I became upset/frightened to be involved in something I had nothing to do with. I drove to the man’s house to explain to the police that I wasn’t involved. They were conducting a search of the man’s house. I began asking the man i had been talking to on the phone, what was happening. He said he didn’t know why the police were there. He started showing me some of the items he had on the shelves. He was burning multiple sticks of incense. He showed me a large bag of marijuana. I told him the police probably thought he had stolen all the things he had on the shelves. The police were searching in another room for a long time. I had been waiting to talk to them. I thought his phone call was still active on my phone line, so I picked up his phone, hoping to speak to my husband to explain where and why I had gone. A man was on the phone, bur it was a friend of the man i was visiting. He was asking me to speak to him. He was assuming I was the man’s new girlfriend. I gave him the phone. Then I asked him why he was burning all the incense. I asked him if he had a marijuana license, that would make it legal for him to have it. He told me it wasn’t legal in his state. I asked him what state he lived in. He told me i was in Tennessee. Finally I went to the room the police were in. I began telling them i was only accidentally involved. They didn’t believe me at first. I explained i was from Oklahoma. Then they began acting like they believed me. Then I woke up.
This dream is rich with symbolism and may reflect various aspects of your conscious and subconscious mind. Here’s an interpretation of your dream:
Location and Setting (Home in Tulsa, OK): Being at home usually signifies comfort, safety, and familiarity. However, the interruption by a phone call suggests an unforeseen or unexpected situation that requires your attention. The setting in Tulsa, OK, may indicate feelings of security contrasted with the uncertainty brought on by the incoming call.
Phone Call from a Child: The child’s call implies innocence, curiosity, or a part of yourself that’s trying to reach out for attention. The child asking about shoes could symbolize new directions, journeys, or changes in your life that you are contemplating. The child misdialing reflects miscommunication or misunderstanding in waking life.
Difficulty Disconnecting the Call: This may symbolize difficulty letting go of a situation or a connection that was unintended or unexpected. The feeling of being unable to “disconnect” may point to personal entanglements or commitments that have become taxing.
Transition to a Video Call and Seeing the Home: The transition from audio to visual with the unknown man may represent gaining clearer insight or a broader perspective about a situation you didn’t originally understand. His home filled with memorabilia may represent nostalgia or dealing with past issues.
Encounter with the Police and Legal Concerns: The police presence typically signifies authority, control, or a feeling of being judged. Feeling implicated in something you weren’t involved with suggests anxiety over being misunderstood or caught in a situation outside your control.
Feeling of Involvement and Anxiety: Your emotional response in the dream—being upset/frightened by unintended involvement—can relate to real-life fears of accidental repercussions or being drawn into others’ problems.
Driving to Tennessee: Traveling symbolizes a journey or a transition. Going to Tennessee, a state different from Oklahoma, suggests venturing into unfamiliar emotional or psychological territories. The man's possession of marijuana and incense may point to a desire to relax or escape but also raises concerns about legality and morality.
Miscommunication with the Friend: The misidentification as the man's girlfriend by his friend hints at misconceptions or confusion about roles and relationships in your waking life.
Resolution and Awareness: Finally, explaining your involvement to the police and being believed represents a resolution or a return to understanding and order. It reflects a desire for validation and acknowledgment of your true intentions.
In essence, this dream might highlight underlying anxieties about situations you find yourself involved in without prior intention, as well as the need for clearer communication and the establishment of your boundaries. It may also reflect concerns about external judgments and your wish for independence from misjudgments or misunderstandings. Exploring these themes consciously could help in addressing feelings of uncertainty or being misunderstood in your waking life.
